Wellington is the one place in the county where we routinely spec a deeper base than a normal residential driveway. A loaded two-horse trailer puts far more weight through a smaller contact patch than a car does, and a drive built to ordinary residential spec will rut under it. If the property has horses, tell us at the estimate.

Driveways here are also long. Properties off South Shore Boulevard and Pierson Road often have a hundred feet or more of drive, which changes both the material quantity and how the job is sequenced so you are never fully blocked in.

Timing matters in a way it does not elsewhere. The equestrian season runs roughly January through April and the village gets considerably busier, so if a job can be done outside those months it usually runs smoother for everyone.

Iron is the problem in Wellington. Plenty of properties here irrigate from a well, and well water leaves rust-coloured staining that pressure washing will not touch. It needs a dedicated treatment first, and paver sealing afterwards is what stops it coming back within a season. Long equestrian driveways also collect more organic growth in the shaded stretches under the trees. Sealing a hundred-foot drive takes longer than a suburban one, so we quote it by area rather than by the day, and the joints get re-sanded before anything goes on top.
