Paver Walkways
A walkway in Palm Beach County is the first thing a visitor stands on, and it is also the thing most likely to have been added as an afterthought.
- Free on-site estimate, no obligation
- Most walkways finish in 1 to 2 days
- Licensed and insured, and Jorge is on every job

What the job includes
- Marking the route on site, including the width at the front door
- Excavation and a compacted base suited to foot traffic
- Bedding sand and laying, with the pattern set out from the most visible end
- Edge restraint on both sides, which matters more on a narrow path than anywhere else
- Joint sand, compaction and cleanup
Why walkways move more than driveways here
A walkway is narrow, so it has proportionally more edge than field. Sand migrates out sideways under an unrestrained edge, and once it does the outer pavers rock. Edge restraint on both sides is not optional in sandy soil.
Irrigation is the other quiet problem. Sprinkler heads throwing across a path keep the base damp and wash joint sand out. It is usually a five-minute adjustment if it is caught during the build.
Tree roots, particularly ficus and black olive, will lift a path. Where a route runs near an established tree we would rather curve around it than lay a straight line that fails in three years.
Width is the most common regret. Two people cannot walk side by side on a three-foot path, and a front walk reads as mean below about four feet.
Questions we get asked
How wide should a front walkway be?
Four feet lets two people walk together and looks right against most houses. Under three feet reads as a service path.
Can a path curve?
Yes, and curves usually suit a South Florida garden better than straight runs. They need more cutting, so they cost a little more.
Will roots lift it?
They can. We route around established trees where possible and tell you honestly when a route is a bad idea.
Can you match the driveway?
Yes. Matching or deliberately contrasting both work. What looks wrong is almost-matching.
