Lake WorthOur yard is here, so this is usually the fastest city for us to reach. The 1920s and 1930s cottages around College Park and Parrot Cove still have their original two-strip concrete driveways, and replacing one is a different job from replacing a 1990s slab. Plenty of properties east of Dixie Highway have rear alley access, which keeps material off your front lawn.Boynton BeachMost of our Boynton calls are seventies and eighties concrete driveways past the point where patching helps, usually off Woolbright Road and Congress Avenue. The other half is 55-plus communities like Hunters Run and Leisureville, where the paver has to clear architectural review before it is ordered. Lots here are flat, so a lot of these driveways end up tied into a French drain.Delray BeachDelray is two jobs in one city. Near Atlantic Avenue and Pineapple Grove the bungalows sit on tight lots with no side access, so material gets barrowed rather than tipped where it is needed. Out around Lake Ida and Tropic Isle the lots open up and the mid-century ranches take a large-format paver easily.Boca RatonMore of Boca sits inside a managed community than anywhere else we work, and in most of them you cannot order a paver until the colour and pattern are approved. The Mizner-influenced architecture pushes material toward warm tones, travertine and clay, and review boards tend to agree. Travertine pool decks are more common here than in any other city we serve.WellingtonWellington is the one place we routinely spec a deeper base than a normal residential driveway, because a loaded two-horse trailer puts far more weight through a smaller contact patch than a car does. Driveways off South Shore Boulevard and Pierson Road often run a hundred feet or more. The equestrian season from January to April makes the village busier, so work outside those months usually runs smoother.West Palm BeachEl Cid, Flamingo Park and Northwood are full of 1920s Mediterranean Revival houses with narrow two-strip driveways, and widening one is not always permitted. Those same streets have mature trees whose roots we would rather route around than lay over. West of Military Trail the housing is newer and the jobs run quickly.JupiterJupiter’s housing is newer, so most of what we are asked for here is adding something rather than replacing it: pool decks, patios and extended entries. It is also the most coastal place we work regularly, and properties near the inlet and along A1A get enough salt exposure to change the sealing interval. HOA approval tends to be quick because the standards are clearly written.LoxahatcheeNothing here is a standard suburban driveway. Lots run an acre and a quarter or larger with the house set well back, so material quantity and days both scale with that. Most of the area is on well water, and the iron in it stains pavers a rust colour that will not pressure off, which is why sealing matters more here than almost anywhere else.Palm Beach GardensA large share of the city sits inside a golf community. Mirasol, BallenIsles and PGA National run architectural review plus practical rules about working hours, where a skip can sit and which gate a delivery uses. The finish gets scrutinised in these communities, which suits us, because it is where careful work shows.
